Geo-Thermal Heating And Cooling

Geo Thermal heat pumps transfer heat to and from the soil under your home with the help of a super-quiet pump installed in a cabinet. Traditional heat pumps do essentially the same thing except the traditional pumps transfer this heat to the outside air. One of the biggest advantages of Geo-Thermal and Water Furnace heat pumps is the absence of the outdoor equipment and the absence of noise. The Geo-Thermal units are quiet, compact and all of the equipment fits into a single cabinet. When in heat mode a Geo-Thermal unit will produce heat at about 110 degrees and when in cool mode the system will produce cool air that is about 55 degrees. In both the heating and cooling sides of the Geo-Thermal system, the system will save the homeowner between 40 and 60 percent on their electric heating and cooling bills according to Black Hills Power.

Due to deregulation of the electrical utility industry many utility companies are offering substantial rebates and incentives for installing this type of equipment. Existing homes can benefit from the Water Furnace type system as well and newer construction techniques that allows the underground piping to be installed with minimal disturbance to lawns and landscaping. These systems are able to function well in the California climate and the benefits are tremendous.
