Federal Tax Credits Extended through 2017, the Federal Tax Credits now includes Residential installations. The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 contains renewable energy legislation which is great news for our solar customers. Not only was the 30% commercial solar investment tax credit extended through 2017, but the same tax credit was extended to residential installations also. The purchase of a residential solar electric system will make you eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the cost of your solar system, including installation. This means Brower Mechanical can now offer solar leases for $0 down.
SMUD's Home Performance Program Is your home leaking energy? Do temperatures differ from room to room? These issues can signify inefficiencies in your home, which can waste money and sacrifice comfort. Now there is an easy way to detect and remedy those inefficient energy leaks with an assessment.
PG&E California's goal is to achieve 20% energy savings in 130,000 homes by 2012. You must own a single-family home and purchase natural gas and/or electricity services from PG&E. You must be up-to-date on your taxes and liens. A 15% reduction earns $1,500 in rebates. Each 5% reduction beyond that earns another $500, up to $4,000.
The table below summarizes the available rebates in PGE and SMUD territories. We provide information on the rebates your home qualifies for in the energy assessment report:![]() |

Rebates are based on final modeled energy savings by utility recognized computer software. Rebates are subject to change without notice from the Utility.
Qualifying improvements include insulation, duct sealing/replacement, water heaters, windows, and heating and cooling equipment.
By combining financing, utility rebates and tax credits, an energy upgrade can typically make immediate financial sense for a homeowner.
