Many Californians looking to step away from fossil fuels and electrify their homes have been turning to heat pumps for heating and cooling. As one of the most efficient HVAC systems on the market today, heat pumps are a smart choice for any home.

In addition to the many benefits heat pumps offer, they also qualify for a variety of rebates and incentives. Earlier this year, one of the most generous heat pump rebates from TECH Clean California was relaunched to incentivize electrification efforts and help the state meet its ambitious 100% zero-carbon goals.

As a heat pump installation contractor that’s enrolled in the TECH Clean California program, Brower Mechanical can install mini splits or geothermal heat pumps in your Elk Grove home to help you lower your heating and cooling costs and qualify for up to $2,000 in rebates from TECH Clean California.

How the TECH Clean California Rebate Program Works

The TECH Clean California* rebates cover retrofit heat pump installations throughout the state and offer $1,000 for each unit, up to 2 units per single-family household. Rebates for multi-family heat pump installations are $2,000 per unit.

All types of HVAC heat pumps qualify for the rebate, but the project must be a non-heat pump to heat pump conversion. There are a few other stipulations that apply for the TECH rebates, such as:

  • Heat pump must be installed by a TECH-enrolled contractor—like Brower Mechanical
  • Equipment must be AHRI matched systems
  • Equipment must meet Title 24 code standards

These TECH Clean California heat pump incentives are available on a first come, first serve basis, and your qualified contractor needs to apply on your behalf. Brower Mechanical is currently enrolled in the TECH Clean California program and can help you qualify for their rebates to make your heat pump installation simple and cost-effective.

*Offers are subject to change or cancellation. Visit TECH Clean California for up-to-date rebate & incentive amounts.

TECH Clean California Rebates Are Layerable

While their rebates are great on their own, homeowners receiving the TECH Clean rebates that are looking to maximize their savings can still qualify for additional heat pump incentives. In fact, TECH Clean California has partnered with The Switch is On for a statewide campaign to help homeowners find and learn about applicable incentives for heat pump installations.
Other available rebates and incentives for Rocklin or Sacramento heat pump installations include:

  • Up to $2,000 in federal tax credits through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)
  • $3,500 rebate through SMUD for gas-to-electric conversions, or $750 if you already have an electric HVAC
  • $600/ton (cooling capacity based on the size of your home) in rebates from Roseville Electric
  • And more!
